My favorite Connecticut hiking trails

Image
I may not be a fan of bugs but nothing outweighs sunshine and fresh air on a good hike. Every year I feel like hiking season starts and ends so fast especially when the New England cold frost arrives. This doesn’t stop others but this brings my participation to a screeching halt. I definitely have a temperature cut off. LOL Ct has quite a nice mix dirt and paved trails. Might sound corny but my favorite ones have a stone castle or tower at the top of the hike, this is my reward. LOL Here's a list of my favorite places to hike and make sure to let me know if you've explored these hidden CT gems! Next year I will make it my mission to explore the hiking trails outside my area. If you have any recommendations let me know in the comment section! The Big E Fair is a New England fall must do

Image
My favorite season is Summer but the one thing that ushers in a fun transition into Fall is the Big E Fair located in West Springfield, MA. I'm literally like a kid in the candy store. It is an annual fair that starts mid-September and runs for several weeks. I like riding on the ferris wheel, watching concerts and parades,  car shows, vendor shopping and strolling by the animal/arts & craft competitions. However if I’m keeping it a buck...the highlight is arriving in stretchy legging pants and sneakers to find and eat the unique food! Yes you heard me right I'm there for an epic cheat day! Just imagine the Six Flags of fairs where you actually need a map to get around. Grab a pen and get ready for the ultimate Big E Fair hack. You won't catch me there on the weekends only weekdays because this is the best time to avoid traffic, large crowds and more importantly long food lines. During peak times there is limited seating to rest, eat and enjoy the live ent...

Yet She Evolves

Image
So you’re probably wondering how I waited until age 40 to start a blog. Well the short answer is life kept “life-ing” in a rinse repeat cycle of forgetting to set aside time. Growing up I remember hearing older friends and family say how they always wanted to do this or that but never got around to it. I decided that I would be “different” and write down all the things that I’ve ever want to do and then check them off as I go. If this unoriginal concept sounds familiar that's because this was my version of a bucket list . Keeping mind I was only 22 years old at the time so it was never a list of things to do before I die but simply a reminder to live life in between the monotonous work/life balance. Yet She Evolves blog was inspired when I realized my weekend adventures, vacations, Sunday Fundays and spontaneous selfies inspired people to explore more. I’ve always prioritized time to do the things that challenge me, relax me, make me smile or my personal favorite...the things the m...
