Dating a dog mom in 2023

Image
Is it just me? When dating a new interest their physical looks get you the first date but compatibility will have us at our second date. If I’m interested I’ll ask questions that give me insight on who that person is. And yes, it is important to share whether my intentions are to hang out or to pursue a relationship. There is also one unexpected thing that is make or break to this process since becoming a single dog mom. I will forever refuse a love interest who doesn’t like pets. Have I always been like this? Short answer is no. You’ll never know the bond between a dog mom if you’ve never experienced it yourself. Before I got my dog many years ago I had relatives who weren’t too keen on dogs until they met my dog. There are two different types of people. The ones who have never had the opportunity and those who mistrust all pets. We all know someone who’s had a traumatic bite experience that makes them hesitant to meet a new dog but I’m not speaking on the trauma related mistrust. Is

The Best Man The Final Chapters Review! (No spoilers)

Let me start by saying I am a long time fan of all the Best Man movies. The final chapter is my new favorite. If you haven’t seen it, don’t worry you can still watch it on Peacock. Before I hit play I seriously debated refreshing my memory on the first movie. To be fair, the first one came out in 1999…that was a long time ago. I didn’t to a refresher I jumped head first into the movie.      It was nostalgic to see all my favorite actors and actresses back in the acting saddle! They say black don’t crack and this holds true this never aging cast. In my opinion, this movie is underrated. It’s relatable content and storyline made it all seem so realistic. My favorite part is that I couldn’t figure out the ending. Little fun fact, I’m pretty good about guessing the ending of most movies.     What are you waiting for? Slide into that onsie, pop the corn and pour the wine. It’s going to be that kind of night! You’re welcome ☺️  -Nikko

Viral Mielle Rosemary Hair Oil Has Folks Gatekeeping in 2023

Image
P eople are up in arms about the Mielle Rosemary Hair Oil selling out in stores after Alix Earle listed this items as one of her top 2022 favs on TikTok. I’m sure she had no idea it would go viral and stir up mix emotions. The brown community has voiced concerns over this hair oil that is commonly used for hair growth/retention. The complaint is that it will not be available/sold then bought out by a larger company and with a price increase. I heard rumors the P&G is already getting their stake in the company. When is gatekeeping okay? Every single day this same scenario happens when products are sold out from a viral TikTok review/recommendation and there’s no back lash. Yes, I have an entire album of screenshots of items that Tiktokers have convinced me I must buy. And if I’m completely transparent I want to be the Tiktoker who convinces you to buy or not buy products! Tell the truth and shame the devil LOL. The controversy at its core is the fact that Alix Earle, a seemingly per

Happy New Year! If you are reading this means you are alive and hopefully doing well. I’m curious to know if this week consisted of the changes you said wanted to do. I know the gym parking lots are full and the grocery stores fresh produce is flying off the shelves while the fast food chains have less people in their lines. I hope we can all keep it up! And yes I am definitely including myself in this encouraging push. I saw a meme that said, “May all your troubles last as long as your New Year’s resolutions”. I can’t help but to laugh at that. Just make sure you’re 2023 revision is obtainable. Ask yourself if you can remain consistent enough so that it becomes a lifestyle change. Start small. Set your goal to Feb and then extend it to March and so on. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. If you’re choosing a lifestyle change like going vegan, for example. Start off by selecting certain days of the week to go meatless and then work your way up from there. Five years ago I made a lif
